Flint's Junior Generals: The Next Step In A Tradition
The
Flint Jr. Generals are a part of the Eastern Michigan Hockey
Association (EMHA) Icelanders. The EMHA is a youth hockey
organization that calls Flint Iceland Arenas in Flint, Michigan
it's home. The association supports Teams from the mini-mite
level, up through the Junior "A" level. It has over the
years built a long tradition of producing very good players and
people, that have continued their careers to the USA Olympic
Team, the National Hockey League (NHL), NHL Scouts, the
Professional Coaching ranks, and to play for numerous College
Hockey Teams. Many players have learned the game playing
in an Icelanders sweater.
The EMHA is the only association in the area that has established a college scholarship program for those player's that pursue a higher education. This was established by Gale M. Cronk to reward former player's for their dedication to educational principals, and a continuing love for the game of Ice Hockey.
